The situation

Two sisters running a kitchen from home: a few hundred Instagram orders a month in season, payment by bank-app links, delivery by a driver on commission, no accountant, no software, one phone. An order arrived as four voice notes and a screenshot of a payment link. The seller copied it into the notes app, forgot the delivery slot, and chased the customer for the second half of the payment on the day. A complaint arrived in a DM on Thursday; by Sunday the thread had scrolled away.

What was breaking

Decree-Law 10 of 2026, issued in March 2026, brings every seller trading online, social accounts included, under one regime: registration with the Ministry of Commerce, an electronic invoice in Arabic for each sale, a complaints channel, and penalties that run from KD 1,000 to KD 10,000 and double on repeat. There was no invoice, numbered or otherwise. When a payment link was paid, nobody was sure which order it belonged to.

What we built

A WhatsApp Business inbox where an Arabic-dialect-capable model turns a chat thread, text and transcribed voice notes, into a structured order: items, quantity, price, delivery slot, payment status. The seller confirms it with one tap. From the confirmed order: a numbered bilingual invoice sent back into the chat, a payment reference matched to the order, a complaints tag that files the thread, and an export of the record. The invoice format is built to be adjusted when the implementing regulations are published.

What stayed untouched

Instagram and WhatsApp as the shop; the bank app; the driver. No website, no point-of-sale, no accountant was added.

Where AI did the work

Turning Kuwaiti dialect, voice notes and informal pricing into a structured order. That is the step a template cannot do. The ledger behind it is deliberately small.

Where the data lives

Customer names, phone numbers and order history are stored and processed in the Gulf; the engagement document names the provider and region.

What changed

Every order now has a number and an Arabic invoice before the driver leaves. Payments are matched to orders. The complaints record exists, which it did not. The sisters still run the business from one phone.
